Abilisoft Rich Internet Application Interface
The Abilisoft interface has been developed as a Rich Internet Application. This allows us to provide the features and functionality of a traditional desktop application, using the convenience of the web, making using Abilisoft software is an involving and engaging experience. As it is powered by Adobe® Flash technology, the Abilisoft interface does not suffer from lengthy loading times and the increased memory useage that often plagues Java based application interfaces. This technology choice also ensures platform independence, and removes the need to distribute and maintain client software to your user base.
The interface features a dynamic Explorer panel that is hidden by default to reduce the amount of screen real estate that is used. The Explorer panels are activated by moving your mouse near the edges of the screen. The image below shows the Abilisoft interface with multiple Explorer panels activated.
Information can be viewed in multiple ways, allowing each user to use the interface in the way that works best for them. The available views allow you to look at your data organised either by the type of component, the host platform or in groups that you have created. You can group by physical and logical locations, and service and component types, meaning that you can effectively organise things how you want them.
Alerting & Escalating
When certain things happen in your environment, you need to know straight away. Abilisoft lets you know by raising an Alert, and displaying it within the user interface. The Alert tells you what has happened, the affected component and the time of the Alert. An Alert can be triggered by many different types of conditions being met; a component changing State, a threshold being breached and an application configuration file being updated are just some example. This image shows how Alerts are presented within the Abilisoft interface, as well as the Alerts Explorer panel.
For those times when you're not at your desk, Abilisoft will tell you what's happening by creating an Escalation for each Alert. An Escalation could take the form of an email sent to your portable device, a phone call, or an SNMP trap for loading into existing management tools. If any of your existing tools, such as a trouble ticketing system or an instant messaging bus have an API, Abilisoft will utilise that API for its Escalations.
The Alerts dashboard view presents you with a view of all of the current Alerts, and any associated Escalations. Summary data showing you how many alerts have been acknowledged, and the distribution of Alert severity is also included.
Dashboard Views
The Abilisoft interface gives you the ability to dive down and see the raw results of every test being performed. This ensures that you can always see the results of measuring your servers, applications and network devices at the very detailed level you need to accurately perform fault diagnosis and resolution.
Some times, a higher level view of the information is more suitable, which is why the interface provides various dashboard views more suitable for display on wall boards and for the corner office. Some dashboards can be customised to show the information that you need, others are pre-built so that you get business benefit from day one.
